CPOPP WORKSHOP is dedicated to creating well designed spaces and structures that respond functionally and elegantly to the challenges our clients present. Our project list is as diverse as our clients and each project is given equal respect and painstakingly detailed. We are a firm that responds directly to our clients, our site or existing structure and to the desired program.
We pride ourselves on our relationships with our clients and our ability to exceed their expectations, delivering beautiful structures, spaces, furniture and landscapes on time and on budget. We have established relationships with contractors, fabricators, graphic designers and artisans to provide a truly custom experience in the built environment. We also design and manage the fabrication of site specific furniture and fixtures for many of our projects.
We are a full service design firm, handling every aspect of the design process from as-builts, schematics, construction documents and administration including the procurement of goods. Most importantly, we believe in the idea that good design is a necessity, not a luxury.
Curtis Popp is a third generation Sacramentan. He is a graduate of Sacramento Country Day School and Jesuit High School. He holds a BFA in Interior Architecture from CCA (California College of the Arts). He has been published in Architectural Digest Germany/Russia, Sunset, Remodelista, Interior Design, Dwell, Design Milk, Dezeen, Wall Street Journal, and Interni & Decor magazines.
He believes that all design is connected—it's all about solution finding. Curtis believes design should be site specific, respond to an existing space, and be client informed. Curtis lives with his wife and two children in Land Park.
When not designing furniture, spaces and structures, Curtis has a passion for vintage european cars, motorcycles and boats. He also founded and manages with his daughter, an elite high school girls rugby team, the Land Park Harlequins.
Peiying Wang, ASLA, received her Bachelors in horticulture science from the National Taiwan University in 1996, and a Master of Landscape Architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design in 1999. Following graduation, she worked in San Francisco with HOK and Andrea Cochran, there she worked on variety of residential and commercial projects. Since 2004, Pei has had her own landscape architecture firm in Davis specializing in contemporary landscape design. The modern and clean approach to garden design deeply influenced Pei. She approaches each job as a totally new concept, and works with the clients to try to fulfill the potential of each project. Other than working with housing communities in China and public garden in Switzerland with her oversea colleges, her focus has been on high end private residential works, each of her designs is fully integrated within its surrounding fabric, with a strong sense-of-place. Her selected materials and planting are used as the main language to bond together the architecture, outdoor space and the surrounding environment.
In Pei’s spare time, she enjoys traveling, skiing and hiking, as well as reading together with her son. She lives in Davis with her husband, son and 4 guinea pigs.
